Classix is an open-source development agency that helps maintain Public Goods for Ethereum Classic.
The Ethereum Classic Cooperative has been the network’s institutional sponsor since 2017, funding core development and running the public infrastructure that users touch when they use ETC. The Coop is winding up, and Classix is picking up the torch.
We help carry forward the work that keeps The Original Ethereum Vision alive.
- Core client development. Active maintenance across Core-Geth, Nethermind, Besu, and Geth Classic. ETC is the largest proof-of-work EVM chain by hashrate, and four independent client implementations are what keep it resilient.
- Public infrastructure. Block explorer, public RPC, netstats, node registry, and observability. All deployed from open-source configuration that any operator can clone.
- Research. Protocol work like ECIP-1120, a streamlined fee mechanism that lands an EIP-1559-style basefee on ETC without disturbing miner rewards.
- Community. Stewardship of ethereumclassic.org in 21 languages and the bi-weekly ETC Community Calls, now in their fifth year.
Classix came out of the 2025 fight against Olympia. The Classix Manifesto tells that story and sets out the principles behind everything that follows.
