for the Original Ethereum Vision

Classix is an open source development agency with skin in the game, building and maintaining critical infrastructure for Ethereum Classic.

Building Without Permission.

Core Maintenance

Security-focused maintenance of the primary ETC execution client. We help harden the Classic network through client diversity, protocol vigilance, and timely updates that keep the chain secure and performant.

$ core-geth --classic
INFO Starting Core-Geth v1.12.20
INFO Chain ID: 61
INFO Network: ETC Mainnet
$ eth.syncing
false

Developer Tooling

Public testnets, faucets, block explorers, and developer SDKs. We help reduce friction so builders can deploy on ETC as easily as any other EVM chain.

$ curl faucet.classix.dev
{"status":"ok","tx":"0xa3f..."}

$ npx hardhat deploy --network etc
Deployed to 0x7B2...

Network Operations

We help operate public RPC endpoints, boot nodes, and monitoring infrastructure that keeps the ETC network accessible and observable 24/7.

Uptime 100%
Avg latency 12ms
Active peers 142

Aligned Incentives

Our success is permanently tied to the health of the network we help maintain. We succeed only when ETC succeeds.

Advocacy

We help maintain ethereumclassic.org, the primary information hub for ETC — authoring educational content, ecosystem guides, and multilingual documentation in 21 languages.

Research

We help conduct protocol-level research to advance ETC's capabilities. Our work on ECIP-1120 brings a streamlined EIP-1559 fee mechanism to Ethereum Classic — introducing a dynamic basefee system with miner incentives for better transaction fee predictability and network efficiency. More research initiatives are underway.

Ethereum Classic Mumbai

A casual evening with Ethereum Classic developers and contributors at Leopold Cafe in Mumbai on 2026-11-02, after Ethereum Cypherpunk Congress

Reflections on TOKEN2049

Istora and Diego were at TOKEN2049 in Singapore. Notes on Zcash, the quantum and AI threat to ECDSA, and the projects that could build on Ethereum Classic next.

How Much ETH and ETC Sits Behind Exposed Public Keys

First results from the Classix ETC BigQuery dataset on how much Ethereum Classic sits at addresses whose public key is already on-chain, which holders should migrate first, and how Ethereum compares.

Ethereum Classic Is Back in BigQuery

Classix is now providing a current, public copy of the whole Ethereum Classic chain in Google BigQuery, loaded from our own archive nodes.

The Praxeology of Ethereum Classic

In 2015 Vitalik Buterin explained why blockchains are useful. Ethereum Classic proved him right. In this post, we use Praxeology to explain why.

Rogue Core-Geth Release Incident Report

A social engineering attack on Ethereum Classic involving an impostor core-geth client was recently thwarted. An unreviewed "security release" was shipped on 2026-09-14 and pushed to node operators. In this post we break down what happened.

Hello, Classix

An introduction to Classix, and the people behind it.

The 2026 Classix Roadmap

What Classix intends to deliver in 2026, and where the work points after that.

The Next Chapter

A brief introduction to Classix.

Project Triforce

Three clients, three providers, three regions, three sync modes. A mesh-pinned, eclipse-resistant ETC RPC, published as reproducible NixOS.

The Classix Manifesto

On sovereignty, neutrality, and what gave rise to Classix.

Classix Guerrilla Research Unit

We're actively engaged across multiple areas of development, from the deeply technical to the unapologetically ideological.

Protocol Viscera Sustenance

Nourishing and tending the living core clients, execution standards, and vital organs.

Hyperstitial Simulacra

Stable shadow testnets for rehearsing upgrades and manifesting the future before it arrives.

Self-Sovereignty Tooling

Open multisig and threshold-signature tooling so any organisation can hold its own keys without a third-party custodian.

Solarpunk Mining Initiative

Harnessing renewable energy to secure the chain without compromise.

Agentic Substrate Bootstrapping

Building the fertile ground where machine autonomy meets immutable money.

Memetic Ordinance Division

Manufacturing and deploying ideas, narratives, and cultural payloads that penetrate the zeitgeist.

Meatspace Polyphonics

Synchronizing the human layer through calls, gatherings, and analog bandwidth.

Network Diplomacy Bureau

Forging alliances and navigating the technosocioeconomic landscape.

Algorithmic Eschatology Engine

Automated oracles that divine optimal liquidation moments from off-chain entropy.

Cybernetic Antibody Deployment

Sentinels that detect, diagnose, and neutralize vulnerabilities at machine speed.

Quantum Resilience Metallurgy

Forging cryptographic alloys that survive the post-quantum crucible.

Clandestine Operations

Black Budget Projects. If you know, you know. If you don't, you will.

A Foundation of Principles

The principles that make ETC worth building on are the same ones we refuse to compromise.

Learn More

Code is Law

Immutability as a first principle. Smart contracts execute as written, without intervention or rollbacks.

Proof-of-work security

Sound money backed by real-world energy expenditure. No staking plutocracy, no validator cartels.

Decentralism

No single entity controls ETC. Development happens through rough consensus and transparent collaboration.

Refrigerator Friendly

True permissionless means it doesn't matter whether you're a human or a refrigerator. Equal footing for all participants.

Neutrality is necessary. It's important for anyone participating in blockchain-enabled cooperation to be on an equal footing with everyone else. It doesn't matter if you wield huge economic power or only a tiny amount. [...] It doesn't matter whether you're a human or a refrigerator. It doesn't matter what you believe in, what political theory you subscribe to, [...]. A participant's ethnicity, age, [...], profession, social standing, friends or affiliations, make or model, goals, purposes or intentions — none of this matters to the blockchain even a bit. The rules of the game are exactly the same for everyone, period.
